  1. This is a really interesting topic, and clearly there's no simple answer. Human beings are so diverse and dynamic, and as such, each person learns different ways. I've never been much of a visual learner, so, to me, visual and auditory presentations on electronic mediums are not nearly as effective as print. With print, having a tangible transcript that I can use to closely read, review, and analyze each word at my own pace is more beneficial than audible dialogue. When I cannot control the speed of the material being presented, the words-- and subsequently, it's information-- are often lost, and I find myself losing concentration. For this reason, any time I watch a movie or TV show, I have to turn on subtitles. But I also appreciate the value of performance. When you can see where the author places volume and inflection, the true meaning and passion behind their work is more evident.
